GUBRA

SYNOPSIS:
Orked is a upper-middle class working woman who married to a successful advertising executive Arif. Early one morning, Orked receives news that her father had collapsed. This unfortunate event proves Arif to be a caring husband who takes charge of the crisis while the rest of the family undergoes an emotional breakdown. However, things take a turn when Orked discovers, by accident, that the seemingly reliable Arif may be seeing another woman behind her back. On the other side of town, in a relatively poorer housing area, a young Muslim cleric and his cheerful wife live next door to a couple of prostitutes. Even though the loving couple is surprisingly non-judgmental of their neighbors, they soon find themselves embroiled in the dangers that come with the ladies way of life. "Gubra" weaves back and forth from one story to the other. As the stories unfold, it becomes increasingly clear that even though the two worlds are physically disconnected, the people who dwell in them share a similar struggle � that of dealing with all the pleasures, the pain, and the challenges that come with loving.
